Vegetable sculptures in the botanical garden of Montreal

Water lilies, monkeys, sheep and shepherds, giant reptiles and fantastic creatures of the woods: these and many others are the subjects of the 50 sculptures of plants protagonists, in these weeks, of a very particular exhibition in the Montreal Botanical Garden (Canada). It is the art of mosaics, which consists in creating living masterpieces using plants, branches and colored foliage to form two-dimensional or 3D drawings. The green used, usually annual but sometimes even perennial, continues to grow gradually changing the appearance of works of art and creating changing landscapes that seem to come out of a fairy tale. This year’s theme is “Land of Hope”, a land of hope, referring both to the Eden of the botanical garden that hosts the exhibition, both to our planet and to attempts to defend it.
